Mission Overview
As a 3D Artist, you will take on a coordinating and technical leadership role within our consultancy mission at a client site. You will be responsible for the artistic and technical quality of 3D models, guiding junior profiles and interns, and ensuring coherence across various XR projects.
You will collaborate with defense, federal police, and customs on the development of advanced XR simulations used for training, safety, and operational exercises.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, model, and optimize complex 3D environments.
- Coordinate the 3D production line within XR Labs.
- Lead and coach a level B 3D artist and interns.
- Ensure quality control of all 3D assets (technical + artistic).
- Monitor planning, workload, and priorities (in consultation with project management).
- Execute and process 3D scans using high-tech equipment.
- Develop documentation, pipelines, and standard procedures for 3D development.
- Coordinate with other XR teams (Defense, Federal Police, Customs).
- Play an active role in the development and guidance of training and simulation moments.
- Gather technical needs from stakeholders and translate them into XR solutions.

Expertise
- Thorough demonstrable knowledge of Blender, Maya, Character Creator, Substance Painter, or similar 3D software.
- 3D Modeling: Create high-quality, detailed 3D models of characters, vehicles, props, weapons, and environments for use in XR training simulators.
- Texturing & Materials: Develop realistic textures and materials using PBR workflows to enhance the visual fidelity and immersion of XR simulations.
- Good knowledge of real-time game engines (Unity/Unreal).
- Asset Integration: Prepare, export, and integrate Blender assets into Unity, ensuring correct scale, pivot points, materials, and naming conventions.
- Environment art: Build immersive environments, buildings, and props that accurately reflect real-world locations and scenarios encountered by special forces and the police.
- Prototyping: Rapidly prototype and iterate on 3D assets and environments to refine the training experience.
- Basic knowledge of PBR materials and optimization for real-time environments.
- Optimization: Optimize models, topology, and texture sizes (LODs, poly counts, UV layouts) to ensure smooth performance across different XR platforms.
- Experience with 3D scanning is a plus.
- Experience with technical documentation and version control (Git, Perforce).
- Documentation: Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation of asset pipelines, naming conventions, and processes to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team and with our partners.
- Experience with XR projects is a strong asset.
